Dr. Brown joined the Family Physician Center in 2007 to pursue her passion for primary care after two years as Medical Director of the Hospitalist program at Emory-Adventist Hospital at Smyrna. She earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine and completed her residency at Charity Hospital of New Orleans. Dr. Brown has over a decade of experience in the traditional private practice of internal medicine, as well as serving as the medical director for two geriatric programs.

Dr. Brown is board certified in internal medicine. Her special interests include diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular risk management. Known for her ease of communication and approachable demeanor, Dr. Brown enjoys partnering with patients in their healthcare, stating “The physician has the obligation to educate patients often, to cure when possible, and to comfort always.”

She is married and the mother of one daughter. She enjoys movies, exercising, reading, and cooking.
