Dr. Rao grew up in Huntsville, Alabama and completed her undergraduate studies at Emory University. She graduated from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she was in the medical school honor society Sigma Sigma Psi, and completed her residency training at the University of Massachusetts in family medicine. Dr. Rao then returned to the South where she joined Cobb Medical Associates. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice and a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine.

Dr. Rao is board certified in Family Practice and treats patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics. She believes that health care is both a right and a responsibility. Her special interests include diabetes, dermatology, and women’s health. While focusing on preventive care and the treatment of acute conditions, she strives to practice medicine with practicality.

Dr. Rao is married and has 2 sons. She enjoys cooking, biking, and traveling.
